Planning and Investing For Retirement (Craig Braemer): Learn how to meet your retirement financial goals. This class will take a look at retirement planning over the years and steps to think about as retirement gets closer. Asset allocation for each decade is covered, and how asset allocation may be adjusted over time.
Tools to Research Mutual Funds (Harriet Chan): This workshop focuses on how to research and evaluate mutual funds using Morningstar and Better Investing’s Stock Fund Comparison Guide. According to MarketWatch, “Over the last 15 years, 92.2% of large-cap funds lagged a simple S&P 500 index fund.” How can you beat this statistic? BetterInvesting’s Stock Fund Comparison Guide and Morningstar are the perfect tools to use to identify mutual funds for investing.
Using a Moat to Help Your Portfolio (Craig Braemer): What is a moat? Find the answer (hint: it isn’t just something that is around a castle) and how having a strong moat can help detect a strong Stock Selection Guide (SSG). This workshop focuses on looking for quality companies, thinking about the forces that help maintain and improve Section 2 of the SSG, and how a moat can help performance through owning great stocks for the long term.
Stock to Study (Harriet Chan, Kweli Lewis, Jim Willcox): In this session, Harriet, Kweli and Jim demonstrate completing a Stock Selection Guide (SSG), highlighting the various judgment sections of the SSG. This is an interactive workshop packed with lots of practical discussion about filling out an SSG. New and experienced investors can benefit from this step-by-step stock study using the Stock Selection Guide.
