Terry Lyon is a founding Director of the Pittsburgh Chapter, which was chartered in 1985. He has been active continuously in a number of roles as a Director since then. At various times he has been President, Vice President, and Secretary.
During the years when Investors Fairs were a popular annual event, Terry’s input into their planning and execution was essential to their success. As part of the Investors Fair programs, he also organized and ran the very popular Club Portfolio contest each year.
Terry was one of the founders of the Pittsburgh Chapter’s first Model Investment Club in 1993, and continues to serve as Club President. The Model Club has a large, very enthusiastic and active membership, and also sees a large number of visitors.
He has been a frequent instructor in the Stock Selection Guide, Club Accounting, and most other BetterInvesting related investment topics. Many of the Chapter’s investment clubs have also benefited from Terry’s club visits.
The Thomas E. O’Hara Service Award presented by BetterInvesting honors one of our co-founders Thomas E. O’Hara. It is given semi-annually to a Chapter director chosen for giving outstanding service to BetterInvesting and the local chapter.

The home office has begun adding content to its presence at Seeking Alpha, and we invite you to follow us. Our efforts at the site are meant to build our presence among investors who are interested in studying individual stocks, so please consider recommending anyone you believe will be interested in our education at the site to follow us as well.
Seeking Alpha is a popular stock research site that includes stock commentary, discussion, news and transcripts of companies’ quarterly conference calls with analysts. Some parts of the site require a subscription, but BetterInvesting’s content is free.
To find us, go to our SeekingAlpha page. We’re periodically adding content such as articles about our principles and popular transactions by investment clubs, along with stock screens and stock studies exclusive to Seeking Alpha. In recent weeks we’ve posted content regarding a stock screen for large and midsize companies, portfolio moves made by CEO Kamie Zaracki’s investment club and a sampling of BetterInvesting investment club transactions.
